The Bradford District Plan 2016 -20 (PDF) has been developed collaboratively with our partners within Bradford District Partnership (BDP). The plan has been approved by the BDP Board and is now being shared with colleagues across all the partnership organisations.

The Plan sets out how all members of the BDP (including of course the Council) can do things differently, help communities to do more for themselves, work better across organisations and prevent rather than just respond to issues. It aims to draw on the resources and activity of local people, communities, businesses and organisations, across the district.

The plan is presented in an engaging and easy-to-use format and covers the five priorities for the district:

  • Better skills, more good jobs and a growing economy
  • A great start and good schools for all our children
  • Better health, better lives
  • Safe, clean and active communities
  • Decent homes that people can afford to live in

For each priority, the plan sets out the district's ambition, where we are now and key actions that will help us progress, as well as targets that will help us measure our success.

The plan also forms the basis of more detailed action plans which will help the Council and our partners reach our targets. This includes plans for each Council ward, the Council's organisational plan and even staff performance management and appraisals.

The plan can be viewed from the documents section on this page.
